Greenway, Wife Host 5th Annual 'TendHERHeart' Luncheon

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Some mothers who usually put their family first, were given a morning for themselves today.

Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway and his wife Jenni hosted the fifth annual "TendHER Heart" luncheon at the Minneapolis Hilton.

It brings together around a hundred mothers of chronically ill children.

The Greenways came up with the idea after meeting families while visiting hospitals.

"They get up there and some of them just spew what's happened, some tell them how they've moved passed it, some of these moms their child just got diagnosed and just getting into it and they can use it as sort of motivation keep going every day," Greenway said.

After the brunch, the moms could enjoy makeovers and had the chance to share stories and support one another.
