Green Line Train Hits Pedestrian In St. Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Green Light light-rail service is running again in St. Paul after a train hit a pedestrian.
A Metro Transit spokesman says the man was taken to a local hospital Thursday with non-life-threatening injuries, including a possible broken leg. He says no one on the train was hurt.
The man was hit by the side of the train while he was in a designated crossing area near Western Avenue station around 6:30 p.m. The spokesman says the man might not have seen the train coming.
He says the train's driver will undergo standard drug and alcohol testing.
Buses replaced train service for about an hour between the Capitol-Rice Street and Hamline stations.
A Green Line train fatally hit a female pedestrian wearing headphones on Aug. 31 near the Minneapolis-St. Paul border.
