Green Line Collides With Car In St. Paul

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The METRO Green Line light-rail train collided with a car in St. Paul, Minn. Monday night.

According to Metro Transit officials, the train and the car hit at 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of University Avenue and N. Hampden Avenue.

Both the train and the car were traveling westbound when the car ran a red arrow and turned in front of the train.

The driver of the car was cited by Metro Transit Police for failure to obey a traffic control device.

The car was towed and the train was able to leave the scene in roughly 15 minutes.

No one was injured.
