Gov. Dayton: Team Will Be Mostly Intact For 2nd Term

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Gov. Mark Dayton expects most of the agency commissioners that served in his cabinet in his first term will remain on board.

Dayton said Monday that he's optimistic "that most are going to stay, most have been asked to stay and most want to stay." There typically is some churn in top executive posts between terms. So far, the heads of two boards have announced their departures but no large-scale agency commissioners have said they'll leave.

Dayton says there are some commissioners still weighing an extended commitment, but he hopes the executive lineup will be clear by next week.

The Democratic governor won a second term in November. He says this will be his final four years.
