Gophers' Zahui Named Big Ten Player Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – University of Minnesota sophomore Amanda Zahui B. was named the Big Ten's Player of the Week in women's basketball after she led the Gophers to a pair of victories last week.

Zahui averaged 33 points, 28 rebounds and 4.5 blocks in wins over Iowa and Michigan. She gained national attention for scoring 39 points and grabbing 29 rebounds in the win over Iowa. Zahui followed that with 27 points and 27 rebounds in a double overtime win over Michigan.

The 29 rebounds against Iowa set a Big Ten single-game record. She was also named ESPN's National Player of the Week for her efforts.

It's the fourth time she's been named the Big Ten's Player of the Week this season.
