Gophers Women Fall At Northwestern, 70-49

MINNNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Despite having two players score in double figures, the University of Minnesota women's basketball team lost 70-49 at Northwestern Sunday to fall to 6-4 in Big Ten play.

The Gophers were led by Amanda Zahui B.'s 13 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks. Minnesota was led in scoring by Carlie Wagner, who had 14 points. It was Zahui's 16th double-double of the season and 34th of her career. Wagner scored in double digits for the fifth straight game.

Northwestern led 37-27 at the half and pulled away in the second half, leading by as many as 22 points.

Minnesota (17-5, 6-4) returns to action at Illinois at 8 p.m. Thursday.
