Gophers' Shae Kelley Named Big Ten Player Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – University of Minnesota senior Shae Kelley was honored by the Big Ten Conference on Monday after having a big week in a pair of victories.

Kelley was named the league's Player of the Week. She averaged 24 points, 15.5 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals per game as the Gophers beat Ohio State and Indiana to improve to 16-2 on the season. It's the best start a Gophers women's basketball team has ever had.

Kelley scored a career-high 29 points, grabbed 18 rebounds and had three blocked shots in a win over Ohio State. She also had 19 points and 13 rebounds, her seventh double-double of the season, as Minnesota rallied to beat Indiana 65-61 on Sunday.

It's the second time in her career Kelley has earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors.
