Gophers' Reilly Named Big Ten's First Star Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Mike Reilly of the University of Minnesota men's hockey team was named the Big Ten's First Star of the Week on Tuesday after the Gophers took four out of a possible six league points at Michigan State last weekend.

Reilly led the league with five points over two games. He had one goal and four assists. He scored that goal and added two assists in Friday's 5-0 win over the Spartans. Reilly also had two assists in Saturday's game, a 3-3 overtime tie. All four of Reilly's assists on the weekend came on power-play goals. The Gophers have the top power play in the nation at 34 percent.

It's his second career weekly award from the Big Ten Conference and first this season. He leads the league among defensemen with 17 points, a number that includes 14 assists.
