Gophers Installing Lighting At Siebert Field

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Gophers will play some of this season's home baseball games under the lights.

The team and the Foundation for Minnesota Baseball began installing lighting at Siebert Field on Jan. 24.

The project will allow the Gophers to move some of this season's games to nighttime starts. The first night game will be April 25 against Penn State.

The Gophers are entering their second year at new Siebert Field.

Minnesota coach John Anderson says adding lights will give young baseball players more chances to use the ballpark.

In addition to Gopher baseball games and practices, Siebert Field also hosts youth and high school games and clinics.
