Gophers' Boddy-Calhoun Earns Big Ten Weekly Honor

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The University of Minnesota football team got one of its biggest wins in program history at Nebraska Saturday, and a defensive player got an award from the Big Ten Conference in the process.

Defensive back Briean Boddy-Calhoun was selected a Co-Defensive Player of the Week along with Ibraheim Campbell of Northwestern. Boddy-Calhoun essentially sealed the Gophers 28-24 victory after forcing and recovering a Nebraska fumble as the Cornhuskers were on the verge of scoring a go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Boddy-Calhoun also had five tackles, including four solo tackles, in the win. He leads the Gophers and ranks third in the Big Ten with four interceptions on the season. It's his first Defensive Player of the Week honor.
