Gophers' Ambroz Named Big Ten's Second Star Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After a big weekend in helping the University of Minnesota take four out of six points at Wisconsin, senior Seth Ambroz was named the Big Ten's Second Star of the Week on Tuesday.

Ambroz scored twice Friday night in Minnesota's 7-5 win over the Badgers. He added two more goals Saturday as the Gophers and Badgers played to a 4-4 tie, with Wisconsin earning the extra point in the shootout. Four of Ambroz's six multi-goal games in his career have come against Wisconsin. He also has 11 of his 35 career goals against the Badgers.

It's the second time Ambroz has earned an award from the Big Ten Conference and his first this season.

The Gophers return to Mariucci Arena this weekend, hosting Ohio State at 8 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday.
