Gopher Women Top Penn State, 98-85

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota women's basketball team got big games from Carlie Wagner and Jessie Edwards to beat Penn State, 98-85, on Sunday at Williams Arena.

Wagner scored a career-high 32 points, including six 3-pointers. Edwards added a career-high with 22 points off the bench for the Gophers (9-4, 1-1). Edwards also grabbed eight rebounds and was 8-of-11 at the free-throw line.

Rachel Banham added 20 points and had eight rebounds for Minnesota in the win. It was the fourth time this season the Gophers scored at least 90 points.

Minnesota travels to Illinois Thursday night.
