Gopher Volleyball Gets No. 2 Seed, Faces North Dakota Friday In NCAA's

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The University of Minnesota volleyball team capped off a big week by earning the No. 2 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.

The Gophers (25-4) will host a regional this weekend with North Dakota, USC and Hawaii. The Gophers will open NCAA Tournament play Friday night against North Dakota at the U of M Sports Pavilion.

Minnesota is one of three Big Ten teams to earn three of the top four seeds in the tournament. Nebraska is the No. 1 overall seed, and Wisconsin is the No. 3 overall seed. The Gophers beat both teams in the past week in five-set matches.

If the Gophers win Friday, they would face the USC/Hawaii winner at 6 p.m. Saturday.
