Gopher Hockey Releases 2016-17 Non-Conference Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota men's hockey team released its non-conference schedule for the 2016-17 season on Thursday.

The Gophers enter the year having won three straight Big Ten regular season titles. Minnesota will open the regular season at the University of Alaska-Anchorage in a Friday-Sunday series, Oct. 7-9.

The Gophers will host the U.S. Under-18 Team on Oct. 18, then have a home-and-home series the following weekend with St. Cloud State. Minnesota will host North Dakota Nov. 4-5, and face Minnesota State University, Mankato in a home-and-home series Nov. 18-19.

The Gophers will also host the Mariucci Classic Dec. 30-31. They'll also host the North Star College Cup at Xcel Energy Center Jan. 27-28, 2017.
