Gopher Football To Face Fresno State In 2018-19

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota announced Tuesday that the football program has agreed to a home-and-home non-conference series with Fresno State.

The Gophers will host the Bulldogs on Sept. 8, 2018, and travel to Fresno State on Sept. 7, 2019. It will be the first time Minnesota has faced Fresno State in football. But it's not the first time the Gophers will have faced teams from the Mountain West Conference.

Minnesota already has a home-and-home series scheduled with Colorado State, starting this season. The Gophers will host the Rams in 2016, have played San Jose State and also had a series with UNLV. Their inaugural win at TCF Bank Stadium was also against an MWC opponent in Air Force.

The Bulldogs finished last season 6-8 overall and 5-3 in their league.
