Gopher Football Announces 2014 Spring Practice Schedule

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – University of Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill announced the team's spring football practice schedule on Tuesday and for the fourth straight year, all practices will be open to the public.

Kill and the Gophers will open spring practice with an afternoon workout on March 4. The team will hold a total of 15 practices with the last one on April 11. All practices will be held at the Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex. The Gophers will host their annual Spring Game at 1:30 p.m. on April 12 at TCF Bank Stadium.

Minnesota is looking to build from an 8-5 season that included the program's first four-game win streak in Big Ten Conference play in 40 years. The Gophers finished the season with a 21-17 loss to Syracuse in the Texas Bowl.

Kill, officially announced Monday, received a significant pay raise as part of a restructured contract to stay as Gophers head coach. He went from making about $1.2 million to $2.1 million with the possibility of performance bonuses.
