Good Question: What's The Most Popular Halloween Candy?

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new survey from the National Confectioners Association says 74 percent of people say they'll give out candy to Halloween trick-or-treaters.

They'll have to decide -- full size or snack size? Chocolate or gummy? Nuts or nut-free?

So, what kind of candy are we buying? And what do kids want?

Chocolate rules Halloween.

Sixty-eight percent of people say chocolate is their favorite Halloween candy, followed by candy corn (10 percent), gummy candy (7 percent) and chewy candy (5 percent)

According to The Hershey Company, the top two Halloween sellers are Kit Kat Miniatures and Reese's Snack Size.

An analysis of online Upper Midwest grocery receipts from Peapod says Snickers Fun Size, Butterfinger Fun Size and Dove Silky Smooth Dark Chocolate round out the top five.

The vast majority of people (85 percent) prefer handing out snack sized candy.

A new survey from Influenster says Minnesotan's favorite Halloween candy is 100 Grand Bar.
