Golden Valley police chief placed on leave, city officials say
Virgil Green, chief of police in Golden Valley, Minnesota, is on paid administrative leave until further notice, according to a statement released on Saturday by city officials.
Green's leave is "pending review of a complaint," officials say, and no further information was given due to "state law."
Officials say in Green's absence, assistant chiefs Alice White and Rudy Perez are co-leading the department.
"The City is following its normal steps to ensure leadership continuity in the GVPD and remaining focused on continuing to deliver a high level of public safety services," the city said in a statement.
