Going Behind The Scenes With The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We see law enforcement save lives every day but you never get a look at the training that goes on behind the scenes.

On Friday, you can see how the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office gears up for the most difficult of missions as they're hosting an open house. They'll be at the Minnesota State Patrol headquarters with and a look at how underwater rescues happen among other demonstrations.

Often times when we see authorities, it's in live situations where they are trying to get people out of harm's way. But from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, people can get an inside look at how authorities and officers train to do what they do to keep us safe.

The other exercises include training with canines and a look at how they use their helicopters.
