Judge: Globe University's Police Program Is Fraudulent

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Globe University's program to train police and probation officers is fraudulent, according to a verdict handed down Thursday.

A Hennepin County judge found that Globe and the Minnesota School of Business violated the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

The schools attracted students who thought they would become licensed peace officers, when in fact those diplomas were worthless.

A court injunction will force Globe to stop its deceptive marketing. The judge will now decide if students are entitled to restitution.

The schools said they are proud of the role they play in strengthening the workforce.
