Girl, 2, Seriously Injured In Brooklyn Center Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 2-year-old girl was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash on Interstate 694 near Brooklyn Center.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash happened just after 4 p.m., when a Toyota Corolla lost control while merging onto eastbound I-694 from northbound I-94.

The Corolla ended up across the lanes of the interstate, and a Honda Accord in the center lane broadsided it soon after. The crash sent the Corolla into the median wall.

Two-year-old Amani Isse was in the Corolla and suffered serious injuries. She was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

The conditions of driver Ahmed Mohamed, 22, and 24-year-old passenger Ifrah Yassin have not been released.

The two passengers of the Accord -- 25-year-old Dao Moua and 57-year-old Shoua Moua -- both suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The state patrol is investigating.
