Get Movin' Monday: 9Round Kickboxing In Brooklyn Park

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Now that summer's winding down, a lot of us are going from working out outdoors to a more regular gym routine.

The hottest trend in fitness isn't the big, full-service gym. It's the strip-mall, stripped-down fitness concept. 9Round in Brooklyn Park is a kickboxing circuit work-out: they promise a total-body workout in just 30 minutes.

"The workout changes every single day. Every time you come in it's something new, something unique," general manager Irie Collins said.

There are nine different stations. Some work on core strength. Others are kickboxing, punching and jabbing.

You spend 3 minutes at each station with 30 seconds of "rest" in between, like wall sits.

It combines the feel of a group fitness class with the personal attention of having a trainer. Collins or another trainer is always on the floor.

"It's a complete full body workout. When our members walk out of here, something new is sore every day," Collins said.

It's $49 for unlimited access for a month.
