UPDATE: Bloomington Gas Leak Stopped

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A gas leak that led to a road closure in Bloomington has been stopped Thursday morning.

According to Bloomington police, shortly before 5 a.m. a gas leak was reported near Old Cedar Avenue in Bloomington.

Bloomington Police located the leak under a single manhole in the 9200 block of Old Cedar Avenue near Old Shakopee Road.

CenterPoint Energy responded to the scene and shut the valve off.

Old Cedar Avenue was blocked off at Old Shakopee Road to Meadowview Road. A gas station near the area was also been shut down as a precaution.

CenterPoint Energy said they stopped the gas leak shortly before 8 a.m. Old Cedar Avenue has been reopened.
