Garth Brooks Hosts Hockey Camp For Kids In St. Louis Park

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- As if it wasn't enough to perform 11 concerts in two weeks, Garth Brooks is finding other ways to leave his mark on the Twin Cities.

On Sunday afternoon, Brooks hit the ice at the St. Louis Park Rec Center, where about 50 kids between 9 and 13 years old skated drills at his ProCamp. He puts on these camps with pro athletes in each city on his tour.

Despite straining his voice from those back-to-back concerts, he chatted with the kids about being good teammates and good people.

"That's our future. Deal with them now. Teach them to love one another or you can deal with them later when they haven't gotten that message yet, because this is a great time," Brooks said.

Brooks has been hosting these ProCamps for more than a decade.

Brooks will be wrapping up his stop in the Twin Cities with five more shows, starting Thursday evening.
