Garrison Keillor, Charlie Wilson Added To State Fair Concerts

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota State Fair dropped a bomb on concertgoers Friday morning ... well two of them, actually.

Former Gap Band singer Charlie Wilson -- best known for not only "You Dropped a Bomb on Me" but also "Early in the Morning," "Burn Rubber On Me" and "I Don't Believe You Want To Get Up and Dance (Oops)" -- will be performing at the Grandstand on Friday, Aug. 26.

Opening for Wilson will be special guest Fantasia, who was the winner of the third season of "American Idol," and has since become a Grammy Award-winning celebrity vocalist.

Additionally, Garrison Keillor, who will be leaving his "A Prairie Home Companion" radio show after decades this coming season, will be performing "The Minnesota Show" on Friday, Sept. 2.

The show will feature many of the things listeners love about "Prairie Home," including the news from Lake Wobegon, songs, sound effects, and more.

Tickets for Wilson's show will be from $40 to $55, and Keillor's from $27 to $35. They go on sale Friday, June 3.
