Garage Destroyed In Fridley Fire, No Injuries

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said one garage was destroyed and another was damaged after a fire in Fridley early Wednesday morning.

Crews responded to the 600 block of Fairmont Avenue in Fridley at about 4:30 a.m. on a report of a fire. When authorities arrived, a detached garage at the residence was fully engulfed. The fire spread to another detached garage, causing damaged and a neighboring home also suffered extensive damage in the blaze. Fire officials said one person was inside the home at the time of the initial garage fire, but got out safely.

The neighboring home suffered damage to its roof, attic and first floor. The garage was a total loss, including a vehicle inside.

Firefighters were able to put the blaze out, and nobody was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
