Funeral Service Set For Ex-2nd Lady Joan Mondale

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Details have been announced for Saturday's funeral service in Minneapolis for former second lady and arts advocate Joan Mondale.

The wife of former Vice President Walter Mondale died Monday at age 83.

A service of thanksgiving for the life of Joan Mondale will be held at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary of Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Mondales are longtime members of the historic downtown church.

A reception hosted by the former vice president and his family will immediately follow the service in the lobby of Orchestra Hall, across the street from the church.

Joan Mondale formerly served on the Orchestra Hall board of directors.

A prelude of music will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. The service will be streamed live on the church's website.
