Funeral Monday For Worker Killed At US Bank Stadium Construction Site

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- People will come together Monday to remember a construction worker killed at the new Vikings stadium.

There is a funeral in Faribault for Jeramie Gruber, who died last week. His life was honored when the Minnesota Vikings played the Dallas Cowboys in Texas Saturday. Each player wore the initials "J.G." on their helmets.

There was also this somber tribute during the broadcast: "The entire Minnesota Vikings family sends its thoughts and prayers to the family of Jeramie Gruber, who tragically passed away earlier this week."

Gruber, 35, died last Wednesday morning after falling 50 feet doing roofing work at U.S. Bank Stadium. He was an employee of Berwald Roofing of North St. Paul.

Another worker was seriously injured.

The accidents are still under investigation.

Funeral services for Gruber will be at 10:30 o'clock Monday morning at First English Lutheran Church in Faribault. He'll be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery.
