Fundraiser Held For 'Miracle Baby' Who Fell 11 Stories

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The community plans to rally around a Minneapolis toddler whose survival has been nothing short of a "miracle."

Fifteen-month-old Musa Dayib fell 11 stories from the Riverside Plaza apartments in Minneapolis last month. He plummeted off the balcony and landed on a thin patch of mulch.

The toddler had several broken bones and fractures and has been making a slow, but steady recovery.

Pillsbury United Communities and several Somali groups will host a fundraiser dinner Thursday night in an effort to raise money for little Dayib and his family. The suggested minimum donation is $10 per child and $20 per adult.

It starts at 5:30 p.m. at the Brian Coyle Community Center.

According to a tweet by the Hennepin County Medical Center, the toddler will get his casts off in time for Thursday's fundraiser.

You can also donate at any Associated Bank or Wells Fargo Bank location. For more information on how you can help, click here.
