Full-Court Buzzer-Beater Launches Austin To Win
AUSTIN, Minn. (AP) -- It was another Hail Mary pass to give the Packers the win. Only this time the winners are the Austin boys basketball team with a stunning, full-court shot as time expired.
The winning players and fans erupted in jubilation as Austin walked away with an unbelievable 57-56 buzzer-beating win Tuesday night over Northfield.
The Austin Daily Herald says three seconds were left in the game when Northfield missed a free throw and Packers junior Oman Oman grabbed the rebound and flung the ball the length of the court. To everyone's surprise, it went through the net.
Austin head coach Kris Fadness says he's never seen an ending like that in his 30 years of coaching. He says it reminded him of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' Hail Mary pass last week for a Packers' win against Detroit.
