Fugitive Wanted For Sex Crimes Arrested In Colorado

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A Minnesota fugitive, wanted on a warrant for sexual contact with children under the age of 13, was captured in Pueblo County, Colorado, after a Hennepin County resident tipped off police.

Todd Patrick Lowe, 49, had been on the run for more than a year and landed on the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office Most Wanted list.

The warrant was for first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Lowe was charged with engaging in "sexual penetration or sexual conduct" with victims under the age of 13 between September 2009 and October 2012.

A Hennepin County resident called the South Lake Minnetonka Police Department on May 26 after recognizing Lowe's picture on the sheriff's office website.

Lowe was arrested by the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office.

"We greatly appreciate tips from residents and encourage others to come forward with information as well," South Lake Minnetonka's interim police chief, Mike Siitari, said. "Your tip could be the missing piece of the puzzle that could put a bad guy behind bars."

Lowe will be extradited soon from Pueblo County to Hennepin County Jail.
