Teen Who Escaped Juvenile Facility, Stole Car Caught In S.D.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — A 17-year-old boy who escaped from a juvenile facility in Minnesota was caught across the South Dakota border in Sioux Falls after allegedly stealing a car.

Police say the boy fled Sunday evening when officers tried to stop the vehicle. Officers called off pursuit because of the danger to the public, and later caught the boy after he drove off the roadway.

Officers say they also found drugs and a replica gun. The boy was arrested on numerous charges.

Authorities did not name the Minnesota facility from which the boy escaped.
