Fugitive Dentist Wanted In Tennessee Stabbing Found In Minnesota

SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Knoxville police say the Sevierville dentist sought in the stabbing of a woman at a Knoxville motel has been found in Minnesota.

Knoxville investigator Chas Terry tells local media that Dr. David William Gary was arrested Wednesday in Olmsted County, Minnesota. Warrants had been issued for Gary, who works as a dentist in Sevier County.

Police say an extradition hearing will be scheduled for after the holidays.

Police say officers responded to a stabbing on Nov. 17 at a Knoxville motel. The victim of the stabbing told police that Gary had raped her. When she tried to call police, she said Gary stabbed her in the torso.

The victim has since been released from the hospital.

It's unclear if Gary has an attorney.
