Friend: Alleged SD Shooter 'No Monster'

SISSESTON, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota authorities are looking for any witnesses to a shooting at a home that left four people dead, including the suspect.

The attack happened early Saturday in Sisseton, a town on the Lake Traverse Indian Reservation, in the northeast corner of the state.

The attorney general's office identified the suspected shooter as Colter Richard Arbach of Sisseton. Names of the victims or details of the shooting were not released.

A Sisseton hospital official said a woman wounded in the attack was flown to a Fargo, North Dakota, hospital. Her condition was not available Sunday.

William Ryan of Sisseton tells the Argus Leader he was friends with Colter, and the two met working at a casino. Ryan says Colter's "choice and actions were wrong" but "he was no monster."
