Fridley Man, 53, Charged In 4 Aggravated Robberies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 53-year-old Fridley man has been charged in connection to four robberies in Coon Rapids and Blaine, police announced Friday.

Coon Rapids police say Ronald Lewis Taylor either displayed a replica firearm or knife in the robberies, which occurred between Aug. 30 and Sept. 25. He's accused of robbing two Coon Rapids Target stores, a Coon Rapids Walgreens and a Karmelkorn in Blaine.

Taylor now cases four felony charges of first-degree aggravated robbery in connection to the robberies.

Taylor was arrested after DNA from the first robbery was matched to him.

"The dedication of the officers involved in solving these crimes is extraordinary. Countless hours were dedicated by all involved to help identify, locate and apprehend Taylor. It also demonstrates the teamwork that goes on between agencies to bring resolution for victims affected by these crimes," Captain Jon Urquhart said.

If convicted, Taylor faces up to 20 years and/or a $35,000 per charge.
