Freeport Artist Wins 2015 Waterfowl Stamp Contest

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The DNR says Freeport, Minn., artist Scot Storm won the 2015 Migratory Waterfowl Stamp contest.

His painting of a Harlequin duck (pictured above) will be on next year's waterfowl stamp, which is required for all waterfowl hunters ages 18-64.

The DNR says the stamp's sales generate about $700,000 a year for waterfowl habitat enhancement projects. It costs $7.50.

Storm previously won DNR design contests in 2004 and 2009.

Other finalists for the 2015 waterfowl stamp were Kurt Kegler, Tyler Maddaus and Nicholas Markell.
