Franken To Host Warren For Campaign Events

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren is coming to Minnesota to campaign for fellow Democrat Sen. Al Franken.

Warren and Franken plan a Saturday morning campaign event at Carleton College in Northfield. Warren will also help Franken rally campaign volunteers in St. Paul Saturday afternoon. Franken's campaign announced Warren's visit Monday.

Warren has become a hero among progressive Democrats for her tough criticism of Wall Street, prompting calls for her to run for president. She and other politicians are trying to shore up support for Democrats as the GOP tries to take back control of the Senate.

Franken has led GOP challenger Mike McFadden in polls.

Warren will also campaign for Rep. Bruce Braley, who is seeking Iowa's open Senate seat, and Colorado Sen. Mark Udall.
