Four Seasons Sought To Anchor $260M Downtown Mpls. Tower

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The 35-story tower that's planned for the Gateway development near Nicollet Mall and Third Street in downtown Minneapolis may house a Four Seasons Hotel.

United Properties unveiled new designs for the mixed-use tower that's proposed for the block, which is located near the Minneapolis Central Library.

The $260 million tower would reportedly feature 300 luxury hotel rooms and 164 residences.

United Properties' President Bill Katter says the company is in talks with the Toronto-based luxury hospitality brand and that Four Seasons hasn't signed anything yet and it could take several months to get done.

"Our hotel partner, JMI, is in active discussions with Four Seasons and we believe they would be a great fit for this project," Katter said. "This would be a stunning addition to Minneapolis, and one that we believe would be warmly embraced by the community."

The Gateway development would also include street-level retail.
