Former President Jimmy Carter Coming To Minneapolis Friday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Former U.S President Jimmy Carter is coming to Minneapolis on Friday as part of the 27th-annual Nobel Peace Prize Forum.

The event is Friday through Sunday at the Radisson Blu Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. It'll explore the different ideas around peace building, including human rights and democracy, disarmament, sustainability and inclusivity.

Carter will hold a moderated discussion in the human rights and democracy area, titled "Call to Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power." That presentation will be in the Scandinavian Room at the Radisson Blu Hotel from 3:45 to 5 p.m.

Also on Friday afternoon, Carter will be at Si Melby Hall on the campus of Augsburg College from 2 to 2:30 p.m., speaking to 530 students in grades K-12 from the Twin Cities and Wisconsin.

Carter was the 39th President of the United States, serving office from 1977-81.
