Former Montevideo Officer Dies On Mexico Vacation

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Montevideo Police Department said Wednesday it's mourning the loss of one of their former officers.

Montevideo police said John Nuernberg passed away while on vacation in Mexico. He was 62 years old.

He was an officer with the Montevideo Police Department for 31 years, from 1977 to 2008, when he retired. He specialized in child protection, served on the Chippewa County Child Protection Team and was the department's primary sex crimes investigator for several years.
