Former Legislator Getting In AG Race

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- There's another player in the race for attorney general in Minnesota.

Former DFL state legislator Andy Dawkins says he will file for the office Tuesday and has the endorsement of the Green Party of Minnesota. Dawkins served as a state representative for 15 years. Dawkins says he's running "for all Minnesotans who want a place to vote their discontent with politics as usual."

Incumbent Lori Swanson has the endorsement of DFL convention delegates for a third term as attorney general.

Minnesota Republicans have endorsed state Sen. Scott Newman, of Hutchinson. Brandan Borgos is running on the Independence Party ticket.
