Former Iowa Wrestler Takes Deal In Burglaries Case

IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — A former University of Iowa wrestler has taken a plea deal in his Linn County burglaries case.

The Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that 19-year-old Ross Lembeck pleaded guilty to being an accessory to a felony and to drunken driving. Prosecutors dismissed nine burglary counts and other charges in exchange for Lembeck's pleas. He was fined more than $1,300 last month and was ordered to serve a weekend program on drunken driving.

Lembeck is one of three former Hawkeye wrestlers arrested to face burglary charges after several vehicle break-ins in Marion on March 18.

Nineteen-year-olds Logan Ryan, of Bettendorf, and Seth Gross, of Apple Valley, Minnesota, have pleaded not guilty and are scheduled to begin trial on Sept. 14.

The team has dismissed all three wrestlers.
