Former Hastings Priest Found Not Guilty Of Sex Abuse

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A former Hastings priest accused of sexual abuse was found not guilty on Tuesday.

The 64-year-old was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a former altar boy at a Hastings Catholic Church from 1989 to 1991.

The alleged abuse started when the boy was 9.

Prosecutors say lack of physical evidence hurt their case.

The jury acquitted Hoefgen after less than four hours of deliberation.
