Forbes Ranks University Of Minnesota Among Nation's Top Employers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The University of Minnesota has been named one of the top employers in the nation.

The list by Forbes consists of 500 employers out of 200,000 companies nationwide. They ranked the U of M as the 10th best in education and 65th best overall.

Topping the education category was Washington University in St. Louis, followed by MIT and the University of Utah.

In response to the news, the U says their nearly 23,000 employees are as proud, committed and motivated as employees in top global performing companies.

There were a few other Minnesota employers on the list, too: 3M came in at number 97, and General Mills was ranked 165. Google took the number 1 spot overall.
