Oktoberfest Brings Beer And Polka Bands To State Fairgrounds
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - It's the first weekend of October and the polka bands are playing.
It's Oktoberfest at the state fairgrounds.
This year they've added a big tent in the campground area, which features more food options, games and vendors.
You can't celebrate your German heritage without several kinds of beer and sausages covered in sauerkraut.
And a good Oktoberfest also needs some leiderhosen.
"It's a traditional--at least in Americans' minds--German costume," said Travis Calef. "It's a lot of fun to get in the spirit kind of like a holiday."
Oktoberfest goes until 11 p.m. Saturday
Tickets cost $25, which includes a beer stein and beer voucher.
Those aged 13 to 20 get in for $5.
Younger kids are free.
