In 10th Year, Zombie Pub Crawl Aims To Set A World Record

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – If you live downtown, you may want to lock your doors this Saturday. Zombies are taking over Minneapolis.

Now in their tenth year, the Zombie Pub Crawl is moving to the Warehouse District of Minneapolis.

Beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, hordes of flesh eating zombies will stumble through the streets until dawn – or bar close at 2 a.m.

For their tenth anniversary, the ZPC is attempting to set a world record.

According to their website, in 2012 the ZPC set the Guinness World Record for "The World's Largest Gathering of Zombies." Eight thousand zombies were counted at Midway Stadium in St. Paul.

While, 25,000 zombies registered for the crawl, the record specifies that the zombies have to be in a secured location. Thus, they were dethroned the following year.

Now, as the crawl has moved to the Warehouse District, the organizers were able to turn the whole crawl into a secured location and once again be eligible for the world record.

The crawl spans from 6th Street North up to North 3rd Street, and goes from Hennepin Avenue to 2nd Avenue North. Bars such as Cowboy Jack's, Sneak Pete's, The Loon, Brother's and Mill City Nights are all participating.
