Florida Copter Crash Victims Include Former Wisconsin Marine

PORT WASHINGTON, Wis. (AP) — The sister-in-law of a former Wisconsin man killed in a helicopter crash was a proud Marine and a wonderful father.

Kerry Kemp's family was notified overnight of his death in a training exercise along the Florida Panhandle that killed 11 Marines and soldiers in all.

Sister-in-law Lora Waraksa says Kemp was dad to a daughter not quite 1 year old. She says Kemp loved golf, the ocean and playing and wrestling with five nephews. She recalled him taking the nephews to the beach to look for shells when they visited him in North Carolina.

At Port Washington High School, Principal Eric Burke said Kemp was voted "best smile" in the senior class. He met his wife, Jenna, at the school.
