NWS Issues Flood Warning For Rivers In Northwest Iowa

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — Heavy rainfall over the past two days in northwest Iowa has swollen area rivers with storm runoff.

The National Weather has issued flood warnings for the Big Sioux, Little Sioux and Ocheyedan rivers.

The service says the Big Sioux is forecast to crest at 17.6 feet by Sunday at Akron, more than a foot and a half above flood stage. That could lead to farmland being flooded in western Plymouth County.

The Little Sioux is forecast to reach 11 feet by Friday, a foot above flood stage, flooding the city park in Spencer.
