Flooding Moves 'A Taste Of Minnesota' To Carver Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The venue for "A Taste Of Minnesota" is shifting 40 miles west due to heavy flooding in downtown St. Paul, Minn.

The festival is moving from Harriet Island to the Carver County Fairgrounds in Waconia, Minn.

"It's been trying," said Linda Maddox, a festival owner. "We talked to so many different places and so many different people."

She learned of the official change at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, and she said that some food vendors will likely drop out.

"I would think with all that extra distance there maybe a couple of food vendors that might pass on this year," she said.

Maddox also added that the festival was "truly welcomed" by Waconia and the Carver County Fair.

'Taste' will be held from July 3 – 6, and will feature performances from bands such as Soul Asylum, Starship, Badfinger and Tina & The B-Sides. Day Four (July 6) is being sponsored by BUZ'N 102.9, and will feature performances by Maiden Dixie, Devon Worley Band, Tim Sigler Band, Joe Nichols, The Castaways, Free Fallin', and Arch Allies.

Admission is free daily from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., and $10 from 3 p.m. – 11 p.m.
