Flood-Ravaged Delano Holds July 4th Celebrations

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been just over a week since Delano battled flood waters on the Crow River.

The river crested at more than 21 feet, the second highest in history. Several businesses in the downtown area were forced to close along with a busy bridge. Homes were also threatened by the high water.

City leaders even met with Gov. Dayton about getting flood relief aid.

Water levels have receded, making it possible for the city to hold its annual Fourth of July celebration - which included Minnesota's oldest and largest parade Friday morning.
